William R. McLeRoy - Bill is Senior Principal of The Whitestone Group and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). He has a wealth of successful fundraising experience spanning more than 26 years, including strategic planning, capital campaigns, major and leadership gifts, planned giving, and feasibility studies for nonprofits in the Southwest engaged in multi-million dollar initiatives. He also has served as a director or trustee of nonprofit organizations, a chartered financial institution, professional associations, and foundation boards.
Bill is currently a director of the Funding Information Center, past president of the Lone Star Council of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, director of the Rotary Club of Western Fort Worth Foundation, and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He is an instructor for Texas Christian University in foundation grant-seeking and philanthropy, and he contributes occasional articles to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Fort Worth Business Press, and the Journal of Planned Giving. Bill is a frequent speaker for nonprofit clients, professional organizations, and national and regional conferences.
He holds a BA from Austin College and an MA from Texas Christian University and was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Texas at Austin. Bill has been Vice President for Development at Austin College; Director of Marketing and Professional Development for American Medical International; and Executive Director for the Nonprofit Service Center.
