Arts Council of Fort Worth & Tarrant County Internship Profile (2 Interns Needed)
Agency Overview:
The mission of the Arts Council of Fort Worth & Tarrant County is to promote, nurture and support the arts in our community. Founded in 1963, the Arts Council was formed to provide funding and leadership to stimulate and assure the advancement of the arts throughout our community. Today’s Arts Council is a dynamic, multi-faceted, arts agency serving artists, arts organizations and the community with programs that help shape the arts and that have a significant impact on the quality of life in Fort Worth.
Arts Council programs address three main areas: advocating for and funding local arts organizations through a competitive grants program; providing first class public art services, enhancing the visual environment of the city; and managing the Community Arts Center as an affordable and accessible venue for artists arts organizations, and the community as a whole.

Internship Description (2 Interns Needed): Internships within the Arts Council mirror the organization and its mission. Cross-training and inter-departmental involvement will provide Arts Council interns with the full scope of working within a nonprofit. Development, Special Events, Administration and Grants Programming will be offered as areas of involvement and related to all assigned tasks.
Responsibilities:
· Participation and involvement in WorthGoing.com the Arts Council’s arts and entertainment portal promoting the arts and entertainment in Fort Worth & Tarrant County. Identify key marketing and event strategies, social media opportunities, etc.
· Interacting with with the Arts Council’s external constituents, primarily, in the course of identifying, coordinating and implementing projects that connect the Arts Council to its mission of creating an environment that promotes, nurtures and supports the arts in the community.
· Participate in the creation of a new special event in support of the Arts Council’s mission and vision.
· Assist the Development Office with the implementation of the Development Plan and its outcomes including graphic design of Development materials, etc.
Qualifications:
· Creative, out of the box thinker who is not afraid to try new things and identify new opportunities!
· Background in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, English, Public Relations or related fields preferred
· Professional writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills
· Independent thinker with an independent work style
· Experience with Microsoft Office and WordPress (or willingness to learn)
· Interest in non-profit arts-related events, management and opportunities
Other:
· This internship opportunity is unpaid but offers course credit if arranged through an educational institution.
· The internship is based out of the Fort Worth Community Arts Center located on the grounds of Will Rogers Memorial Complex in the Fort Worth Cultural District (corner of Montgomery and Lancaster Avenue).
