JOB TITLE                 ESL Instructor

3 Full Time Positions Available

PROGRAM                Refugee Educational Services

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for English as a Second Language and Civics instruction to eligible refugee clients.  Includes utilizing, developing and implementing effective curriculum for instruction and providing documentation as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Provide English as a Second Language instruction to adult refugees.
  2. Provide Civics Instruction to adult refugees as needed.
  3. Develop and/or utilize selected curriculum for both literate and preliterate adults.
  4. Conduct program services in a culturally sensitive manner.

5.    Cultivate positive relationships with relevant faith based organizations, social service providers, and other community partners.

6.    Complete all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with funding requirements, COA standards, and agency quality assurance standards

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field and one year experience in teaching ESL or a combination of education and experience.
  2. Familiarity with refugee populations and their needs.
  3. Must have good computer skills. Must be able to type and know how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

WORK HOURS AND LOCATION

Position #1 - Class schedules will vary, and may include daytime hours, evenings and Saturdays.  Classes will be conducted both on site and off site, in Fort Worth.

Positions #2 and #3 - Classes will normally be scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Classes will usually be conducted off site, in Fort Worth.  Some evenings and weekends may be occasionally required.
