Job Retention Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
The Job Retention Specialist will provide
post-employment support for shelter residents, residents of supportive
housing and ex offenders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, plan and conduct Net-WORK workshops for program participants.
Workshops will be held weekly at several locations around Tarrant County
and will provide information that will help new employees succeed and
become financially stable. These may include: money management,
career planning, goal setting, problem solving, sustaining employment,
behaviors of a valued employee, how to ask for a raise, how to move to
the next job appropriately, and open discussion of current challenges
faced by participants.
- Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers to
mentor clients

Visit with employed participants one-on-one as needed or requested to
address current needs or progress in employment.

Identify or refer for supportive services that would benefit the
participant.
- Ensure employed participants understand and
are utilizing work supports for which they are eligible. These may
include company-provided insurance and other company-paid benefits,
SNAP, CHIP, Earned Income Tax Credit, WOTC, subsidized childcare,
and others.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in
the HMIS system and TWIST.
- Perform various administrative duties as
requested, including reporting and monitoring of the program.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or
university; or one to two years related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of
business practices and principles preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
skills.
- Must have the ability to take initiative and
work independently, and possess strong organizational skills.
- Must possess basic computer skills including
use of Internet browsers and Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must have a dependable vehicle with
appropriate insurance and current driver’s license for attending
workshop locations throughout Tarrant County. Incumbent will be
reimbursed for mileage.
- Must pass criminal background check.
