Community Hospice of Texas, a non-profit, is
currently seeking compassionate individuals who want to work with the
terminally-ill and their families. Our volunteers are integral part of our
hospice program. They provide a variety of services to hospice patients.
Some volunteers sit with the patient, simply being there to listen and offer
companionship. This time provides the family member a chance to go to lunch,
run errands or a chance to rest. Other volunteers run errands for the
family, process grief with them or provide bilingual support.
Still other volunteers choose to work in the
office providing clerical help. All that is needed is a caring heart.
Everything you need to know will be taught in training sessions, beginning
February 2009.
