Nonprofit Town Hall Meeting:
Empowering local individuals and nonprofits to act collectively for positive
change
Underwritten by the Amon G. Carter Foundation and the Sid W. Richardson
Foundation
NOT JUST
TALK: This is your opportunity to develop strategic local and national
programs to work collectively for positive change!
Local Priorities - as identified at last Town Hall Meeting:
Public Awareness & Support:
How can we raise public awareness and support for the nonprofit sector
in Tarrant County?
What do other industries do to increase awareness? Ex: Got
Milk? Raisins? Beef? They use Youtube and other new technologies;
can’t we also locally?
Nonprofit Collaboration: How
can we promote collaboration among nonprofits in Tarrant County?
There are now almost 1,500 reporting nonprofit charities in Tarrant
County, how can you possibly know what organizations and programs are
out there to collaborate with? Come prepared to help develop a local
collaboration program in which new and small to large organizations can
work together through existing local coalitions and build new
collaborations.
Message to our elected officials:
What input do you have
and questions do you want to ask?
A Primary Project of the Nonprofit Congress is to ensure that your
elected officials are aware of the
views and concerns of the local nonprofit sector. Add to this
dialogue for your own organization.
Top National Priorities – as identified at last Nonprofit Congress
Nonprofit
Organizational Effectiveness:
Ensure that the sector has the resources
it needs to serve communities and is effectively and efficiently
managed. This priority emphasizes Accountability/Best Practices and
Leadership.
Let’s discuss the hot topic of accountability, transparency and best
practices in for nonprofits. Do we have the resources to help you impact
our local leadership, education for leaders, and leadership transition?
Advocacy and Grassroots
Community Activities: Advocate for the
sector at large and engage our constituents to solve problems at the
grassroots level.
What is your most important problem? Hear what other nonprofits are
facing and how we can advocate , locally, statewide and nationally.
Public Awareness and Support
of the Sector: Increase public understanding
and support so that nonprofits can continue to do their best work.
With what is happening in Washington, what message do you need them
to understand?
Task Forces: If you want to grow the collective impact of nonprofits locally or nationally, your chance to do so!
